Bigfork is a picturesque town with world class art galleries, a 27-hole golf course, live theatre and shops unlike anything you've seen before with a wide variety of local craftsmen who draw on the surrounding beauty to inspire their artwork.
Just outside of Bigfork you'll find the Bob Marshall and Swan Wilderness areas, two areas that are expansive and rich with opportunities for the outdoor enthusiast! Head about 1 hour to the north and you'll find Glacier National Park, home to some of the most stunning scenery in the world.

About the Flathead Lake...
Flathead Lake is the largest natural freshwater lake west of the Mississippi River and has a surface area of between 191-197 sq. miles it is in fact larger than Lake Tahoe. A remnant of the ancient inland sea named "Lake Missoula" Flathead Lake is 27.3 miles long and up to 15.5 miles wide and at it's deepest it's just over 370 feet.
Bigfork sits on Flathead Lakes Northeastern shore with several other towns on the Northwestern and Southern shores. If you're looking for a great scenic drive on your way up from Missoula, take Montana Highway 35 rather than U.S. Route 93.
